Date:
Tuesday 16th June 2009
In attendance: Keith, Julian, Colin, David & Sam.
Distance:
15 miles
Weather: Clouded over, but nice.
Time: Departed Willowby 19.40, arrived HQ 21.59.
The
Routemeister was absent due to parental duties, so took the
day off work and went for a gentle 50 mile road ride instead!
So the Under-meister had to fill his shoes yet again! The
plan was for a relatively gentle ride to get us back to HQ
for
our EGM. We went past Gratton Farm, up the hill to the Meavy
turn off. Up again to the Burrator road then onto the old
railway line. Turned right at Routrundle Farm then into the
back end of Burrator Forrest. Over Leather Tor bridge where
David headed for home due to his many commitments this week
which required energy conservation! Flipper slightly lost
the plot from here and we ended up attacking Sheeps Tor's
northern slope! From the top there was a three way split
with the south, east and west descents explored. The east
proved the easiest and quickest and we eventually regrouped
at HQ soon after 10.00pm. Final plans for Saturday's brewery
tour were discussed and decisions made regarding the ordering
of the team jerseys.
