Solo Riding!
Due to Tuesday's poor weather the evening ride was postponed
to Wednesday so my only option was to get out during the day as a solo.
I thought I'd try a route I'd done before but in reverse. So a nice
descent
to
Horrabridge then the long climb up Jordan Lane to Plasterdown then,
for some reason, I carried on up to the top of Pew Tor. When I eventually
got to the summit I was done in! I wandered
on past Vixen Tor and
Merrivale to pick up Badger Alley, although one stretch could have
been renamed Badger Stream!
Whilst heading up the hill to Walkhampton, a
Land Rover
came the
other
way. It
was
at a particularly narrow section of the road, so I dismounted and tucked
myself and bike into the hedge. As the driver slowly passed me,
she uttered words I'd never heard before from a lady, quote, 'I hope
you're
tiny'!!!
As I passed HQ the handle bars did their usual twitching again then
I nearly spent some of my beer money on an ice cream at the old aerodrome!
But
no,
straight
home,
hosed
the
bike
down
and had a cup of tea, that's solo riding for you!
