26th November 2011 Route: Horrabridge, WP, Long Ash, B***ard

With the new improved heavily sponsored jerseys having been released,
there was a suggestion of a christening ride, but
only three turned up, sporting only two new jerseys.
Martyn and I cycled up to WP to pick up Nick. We had a gentle
ride down
to Horrabridge then along to the top of B***ard Hill. Along the
stretch in the woods I properly christened my shinny new jersey
by letting my rear wheel slip off the narrow track with the resultant
muddy off!
It was nice for a change to be out in daylight and as a result
we did a bit of exploring. We picked up a nice track beyond the
B***ard to descend to Double Waters. I did manage to get the
pair along here, another gentle slide into the turf on the other
side
of the jersey!
We climbed up the hill towards Julian's loop, but took a right
turn half way up and went along another good new track which
eventually dropped us down to the gate just along from Grenofen
Bridge. From there along the 'Closed' track to the new viaduct
just to take a peek. Somehow we got from here to the other side,
but it is all a bit of a blur how we did it.
As we descended onto the track, we came across a very nice dog
walker (a spinster I suspect) who had lots to say and four dogs
with very interesting names (all swear words)!! As Martyn and
I left Nick at the old station, there was just time for a quick
mobile phone

the
first official ride of the new jerseys.
