Depart: 19:40
Arrive HQ: 22:00
Distance: 16 miles
Weather: Warm & dry.
With Debbie having to work on her day off, I wasn't sure that I'd
make it out tonight, so when she came through the door at 7.25pm
it
was a quick change then wait outside the front of HQ2. And what
an impressive, most welcome sight eight gents are, heading over
the hill that is
Golf Links
Road! It was good to see Fraser back tonight after his enforced
injury lay-off.
Paddy and Colin had planned a route, so back behind the 1st tee
we went, across the A386 and down to Clearbrook and the old
railway. Under the track and over the Plym to take us into the
woods to Shaugh Bridge. Up the hill and through more woods to Cadover
(can't be more specific than that)! Upwards again to the top side
of the clay pits where we stopped long enough for Al to have a
rant!
Instead of going right as usual, we went left towards
Trowlesworthy Tor. Here I had a BOGOFF (I didn't get anything
free,
I
had
an off
in a bog)!! Across some remote moorland stretch to the dam over
the Plym below Ditsworthy Warren House. Back along Edward's Path
then a puncture for Paul which cut into our drinking time! Finally,
the very enjoyable Earthquake descent before arriving at HQ.
Personally,
I need to be more disciplined when it comes to the alcohol intake,
I think I may have over stepped the
line of
decency when the conversation turned to wives and bushes!!! I do
apologise
if I offended anyone and please don't let me drink any more than
my two pint pink chit limit!!
