Firsts
There were a few firsts tonight, starting with the nice feeling of
being the baby of the foursome at just 47 years old, but, far more
significantly, it can be confirmed that
the Routemeister
is
human
after all. Having
been
out
for a little 56 mile road ride in the afternoon's wind, my suggestion
of going up Earthquake didn't elicit the usual response from the
Meister,
(i.e. darting off at speed to said destination), instead the response
was a face like Deputy Dawg!
That set the tone for a relatively gentle ride, although we did have
to climb Huckworthy hill for starters! We did a loop around Pew Tor
via Pork Hill car park then felt it a little too early to return
to HQ so Paul suggested a little trip down to Ward Bridge! First
time for me going this way, it is truly a hill from hell. When
we intercepted
the Davey Town road, the Meister was a broken man and headed back
to HQ to line up the pints as we continued upwards to Routrundle
Farm
before
taking the railway and Walkhampton back to HQ to join Stephen.
The other first for the evening was me taking out my pocket video
camera. My camera skills need a bit of polishing up, but this
could definately
be a bit of fun! See the first result below.
