Gentlemen of Willowby Cycle Club
No hill too steep, no beer too dear!

Report Wednesday 16th September
Riders. Martyn, Greg.
Weather. Starlit night. Mild no cloud
Depart 1905 arrived HQ 2115.

Picked up my test light from Julian’s Bike shop at 1900 and wound my way down the no-so family cycle path to Horrabridge. Picked up Martyn and after a little light admin, rode along the railway towards Grenofen. Stopped before the switchbacks to take in the Planning application for the proposed high-level bridge to cross the Walkham. (0401/09 I think is the application code).

Up, out of the valley and over to Grenofen onto Double-waters. Chose the path closest to the river on the advice of Sam and regretted it almost immediately. Both of us nearly losing wheel up to the axle. Took in Julians loop out towards Woodtown before pelting it down to the Tavy.

Up Bastard hill then followed the track through Bymore Wood where I was rudely charged by a Badger and then onto Long Ash. Martyn departed down to Horrabridge on the road which left me in a dilemma whether to detour to HQ. Two pints later I arrived home. Very simple enjoyable ride.

Verdict on the light? A must have when I rob the bank.
