Gentlemen of Willowby Cycle Club
No hill too steep, no beer too dear!

Date: Saturday 31st October 2009
Riders: Colin, Stephen, Julian, Paddy, Greg.
Weather: Overcast with patchy light drizzle mild.
Distance: 18 miles
Depart 1940
Arrival HQ 2150

Roborough Down -Woolwell - Cann Woods – Railway – HQ.

A balmy evening although overcast. Several of us had acquired unusual Saturday pink-chits. A fast paced ride across the airfield, past HQ2 with salutes to El Presidente. Across the moor on the western side of the A386 to the Dartmoor café. Down a section of the 386, through Roborough and round the backside of Woolwell. Along the old tramway and down to the Plym. Over the Plym to Cann Woods and a bit of downhill action with fireworks to accompany us. Thanks to Julian for his routemeistering skills on this one. An unwitnessed ‘off’ from Stephen was the only misfortune on a swift ride. A bit of ‘trick or treating’ with an unsuspecting public in the Bickleigh tunnel and we were safe back at HQ. We had lost Colin a couple of times during the ride and we lost him again just before the pub it seems.

President's Footnote: If I'd known you were cycling past HQ2, I would have returned the 'five man salute' from my balcony!!
