Gentlemen of Willowby Cycle Club
No hill too steep, no beer too dear!

Date: Tuesday 29th January 2013
Route: WP, Meavy, Scout Hut, "track to oblivion", Deancombe, Yennadon, HQ.
Riders: Dan, Jude, James and Gidon
Depart WP: 19:45
Arrive HQ: 21:29
Distance: 10 miles
Weather: Very very wet!

We all met outside Colin’s house on a very wet night with plenty more rain forecast. We set off towards Burrator via Meavy and along the lower track we zigzagged up to the dam. Heading clockwise around the reservoir we took the track inside the fence to Norsworthy Bridge. Very soggy but good fun. We carried on up along the track towards Leather Tor Bridge, where we stopped and struggled to decide on a route. With no taskmaster in tow we agreed on the general direction of the pub. We appeared to skim along the surface of at least two inches of water at breakneck speeds via Yennadon Down and Dousland arriving at HQ just in time for Jude to order a bowl of chips – certainly a first in my time with the GOWCC! Despite the weather, an enjoyable ride
