Weather: Overcast, one wintery shower (yuk!). Temp ~ 5°C
Just the two tonight…..so WP, down the
fence to Horrabridge, left after going over bridge and immediate
right adjacent to
the Leaping Salmon climbing up the fileds to Plasterdown. Then
across the eastern side of Plasterdown to pick up the Sampford
Spiney Road.
Along that to the normal climb towards Vixen Tor. We took the
track left as we dropped down to the river crossing which handrails
around the back of Pew Tor where we had a windy and miserable
winter shower of sleet. It eased off and we picked up the wall
back down towards the road south of Pew Tor but rather than heading
back for Sampford Spiney we continued down hill picking up the
Plasterdown road.
Then across some moorland to pick up the moorland
roads out the back of Tavi. We followed them into Tavi Golf
Club (but didn’t
stop Keith, honest!!!). Up to the Tavi “Pimple” and
then back down to the Whitchurch Inn and then followed the back
road to Horrabridge.
Back to HQ via the bike track and a nice pint or two!!!!

Top Tip: In the sleet and dark don’t always
assume the ground is solid. A little wheelie off a small drop
resulted in
Paddy burying his front wheel in mud and being unceremoniously
thrown over the handlebars!!!
