Ugg!!! – A Routemeister classic!!!

Off “he” went at the usual frantic pace..…and we all followed…..and that’s the way it stayed. Routemeister, as usual putting us youngsters all to shame and giving us a right beasting in the process. Poor Julian who has been cooped up in his attic with his text books and not seen the light of day for 2 months. Any sympathy from Routemeister…not a bit of it!!!

Incidents - Keith claimed 5 “off’s”. I only saw one but it was a goody as we climbed up the track to Leather Tor Bridge Keith went for it through a big puddle only to have taken the wrong route through and for his steed to have a refusal, front wheel to do an immediate 90 degree turn and chuck him on his shoulder in the mud. Straight back on though…good man!!!

Martyn decided upon the “half man” route and departed at Routrundle crossroads (not a bad decision as it turned out) – but not been sighted since? Was he got by the Walkhampton Yetti on his way home???

A cracking run on a dryish route and 2½ pints of Jail very well earned. David and Mrs David were at HQ to meet us only to stick the knife in by telling us they were about to go and pick up their curry. Oh, how four men drooled!!! Perhaps there could be an HQ3?????

President's Footnotes: This was only a Catergory 'C' Beasting on the Routemeister's scale, yet as his proposed route arrived at inboxes we lost 50% of the expected riders and then en route we lost another 20%! And yes, I did suffer five offs, all relatively minor into grass, mud and/or water! Except one where my light didn't shine on one lump of granite which had far more stopping power than my disc brakes!
