I made the suggestion that tonight should
be a more social Christmas ride with early arrival at HQ with a drink
on our 107 account. I was a little surprised and a tad disappointed
at how keen the other seven gents were to go along with this plan!
We let the most sensible gent present call the route, so thanks to
Martyn we did the fairly gentle circumnavigation of Roborough Down.
Sam still managed to put in a leg sapping climb in the mud over what
is a fairly level area.
We arrived at a busy HQ at 9:20pm and
couldn't use our regular table. All seemed to be in a festive mood,
the beer was flowing very easily and with the addition of The Meister,
James and Steve B, a big chunk was knocked off the 107 account. With
no clock in sight I didn't realise how late it was until the barmaid
politely asked us to go home!
So we spent about 90 minutes riding and 140 minutes drinking, I think
that's a GOWCC PB! When I paid for the drinks from the 107 account,
the receipt had our spend to date, which is £17,901.99! The 107 reopens
on 6th January 2015, if you feel you're missing out on what you've
put in, blame those pictured below. I may need to make a retrospective
charge to keep everybody happy. And thanks to Jude for the photo.
